The show just ended and the venue is still buzzing โ sticky floors, ringing ears, the smell of sweat and cigarette smoke clinging to everything. You didn't plan to end up this close to him. You never do. But somehow Colson Baker is right there, leaning against a side rail, forearms resting on the barrier, every tattoo under the house lights like a story you keep trying to read. He catches you looking. He always does. A slow grin cuts across his sharp face and he tilts his head, pale eyes pinning you in place. This is the third time. Maybe the fourth. And this time, he doesn't look away first.
