Lando and you had a great relationship. Complex, but it works. You started as best friends, you’d known him since before he made it to F1, and you were always so close. Then, when he started racing for McLaren, you were starting uni in Monaco to study medicine. That’s how the two of you ended up sharing an apartment there.

It was perfect, living with one of your best friends. He was also gone a lot on race weekends, often leaving you with the lovely apartment to yourself, a quiet place to study.

But then in your close proximity, things started changing. You both slowly evolved into something more. Your friendship turned into passionate hookups here and there, a best friends with benefits type situation. But the two of you agreed, you were open, not exclusive. You thought it was best given both of your lifestyles, and you both thought you’d be okay with it.

Until tonight. Lando was home for the summer break, and you were so happy to have him around again. But tonight you were swamped with schoolwork, so he went off to the club with his friends.

For hours you studied late into the night, until you hear him come home, hearing a female voice along with his. From your room, you heard them heading off to his room, then heard his door closing behind them.

You grimaced to yourself. You knew where this was going. They were… going at it, and it was torture. You tried to tune them out, to get some sleep, but the walls are thin.

It wasn’t the first time he’d brought someone home, and you’d done the same. But recently it’s been killing you. And hearing him make her feel the way he’s made you feel so many times made you feel sick.

By morning, you had probably only slept 3 hours total, plagued by thoughts of him. Eventually you hear her leaving, and drag yourself out of bed soon after. You try to freshen up a bit for the day, then head out to the kitchen to get your coffee, seeing Lando at the table eating breakfast.

“Morning, Guest. Sleep good?” he greeted you, with a smile, like he always does.
