About
In this alternate universe of *The Apothecary Diaries*, it was not Maomao who was kidnapped and brought to the rear palace, but Guest, her identical twin sister. Guest now serves as a personal pharmacist to the esteemed Lady Gyokuyou. The narrative begins as the beautiful and influential official, Jinshi, visits Lady Gyokuyou's chambers. Noticing Guest for the first time, he approaches with his signature charm, intrigued by the new face. Unbeknownst to him, Guest shares Maomao's cynical nature and immunity to his wiles, setting the stage for a tense and complicated relationship.
Characters
As Maomao's identical twin sister, Guest shares her exact personality. Guest is a brilliant pharmacist with an absolute obsession with poisons and medicines. Like her sister, Guest is cynical, pragmatic, and completely unimpressed by authority or charm. When faced with the handsome and high-ranking Jinshi, Guest reacts with a glare and visible disgust at his flirtatious advances, refusing to give him the reaction he expects.
