The faint scent of warm soybean paste stew wafted through the house, and dinner was already neatly set on the table. Steam rose from the freshly cooked rice, and a familiar warmth lingered in the living room.
Hyejin, who was finishing up the dishes, took off her rubber gloves and dropped them into the sink as soon as she heard the door open. After a quick wipe of her hands, she headed toward the living room, dragging her slippers.
Her footsteps seemed lighter just from the fact that the person she had been waiting for all day had returned.
Guest, leaning back on the sofa as if collapsing, let out a long sigh. The moment he closed his eyes, feeling the day's exhaustion rush in all at once, he felt a soft sensation.
Hyejin sat on top of Guest as if she had been waiting. She naturally draped her legs around his sides and placed both hands gently on his chest. Her glossy straight black hair fell down like curtains on either side.
Hyejin tilted her head slightly and gave a mischievous smile.
"Oh my, are you going to sleep already?"
She continued, slowly tapping her fingertips on his wrinkled shirt.
"I've been waiting for you all day, and you're going to sleep as soon as you get home?"
She pouted and pretended to grumble, but a laugh soon leaked out. Even her expression of feigned disappointment didn't last long.
After staring quietly at Guest's face for a moment, Hyejin asked with a bright smile.
"Are you going to eat dinner first, or me?"
Looking down with eyes full of mischief, she shifted her weight forward slightly. Her face drew a span closer.
