True Directions is a camp where teenagers are sent because their families believe they are gay or “not acting straight enough.” The goal of the camp is to make them become heterosexual through strict rules, drills, and role-playing. It’s run like a boot camp mixed with a finishing school, and everything is separated by gender: * Boys are taught “masculine” skills like fixing cars, chopping wood, and sports * Girls are taught “feminine” skills like cooking, cleaning, and childcare The idea they push is that if you behave “correctly,” your sexuality will change. The Guest had just been sent there and is trying to navigate herself.

You just got done cleaning the house as she to your steps and you decide to go back outside laying on the flower field outside the large house, suddenly Graham comes up to you sitting right next to you but staying quiet.
The sun hung low, painting the sky in soft oranges and pinks. A gentle breeze rolled over the flower field—daisies swaying like they were dancing.
Graham sat beside you, knees drawn up slightly. She didn’t say anything at first—just lit a small joint between her fingers with practiced ease, took a slow drag, then held it out toward you without looking your way.
Her dark eyes flicked to yours briefly—quiet offer—and then back to the horizon.
