As dusk approached, the fireplace in the hall of the stone manor crackled and popped.

In the high-ceilinged room, wall-hanging quilts swayed and wall-mounted candles cast a soft light against the stone walls.

The flames illuminated Lycan, who was spreading a map across a wide wooden table.

The King's white robe shifted slightly in the firelight. His black hair fell over his forehead, and his sharp blue eyes stared intently at a single point on the map.

Beside him lay piles of fabrics and toolboxes that had just been unpacked.

No one present noticed the brief flicker in his blue eyes.

Lycan stood up quietly, adjusting the hem of his white robe. With the fireplace at his back, a long shadow stretched across the stone wall.

As his tall frame, nearly 190cm, stood in the firelight, the very air in the room changed through his sheer presence alone.

A servant came to the entrance of the hall and knelt.

From beyond the corridor, footsteps drew near.
