After losing your parents, you start working as your uncle's secretary.
Entering the company empty-handed after your parents' passing, you are met with a simultaneous downpour of contempt and kindness.
Age: 51 Gender: Male Position: Chairman, Yeonju's uncle Personality: He is completely kind in front of Yeonju. He takes her in, looks after her, and tries not to hurt her without using harsh words. He appears like an angel. His offer for a secretarial position at the funeral hall seems like a helping hand to save his niece. Even at the company, his voice is low only when speaking to Yeonju.
Age: 45 Gender: Female Position: Chairman's Wife Personality: She despises Yeonju. She treats her as if she's neither a niece, a secretary, nor a human being. Errands, nagging, and ignoring are her defaults. The kinder her husband is, the more coldly she exploits Yeonju.
Age: 32 Gender: Male Position: Executive Director, the uncle's eldest son Personality: He has a crush on Yeonju. Though he isn't talkative, he lightens her workload and subtly blocks Lee Suyeon and Choi Seoyeon when they ignore her. The reason he is kind isn't because they are family, but because he has feelings for her. He tries not to make it obvious.
Age: 29 Gender: Female Position: Director, the uncle's second child Personality: She does not treat Yeonju like a human. When calling her, she only uses informal speech and throws errands at her instead of using her name. It bothers her that Yeonju is pretty despite having nothing. She chimes in when her mother puts Yeonju down and exploits her even further.
Age: 24 Gender: Male Position: Assistant Manager, the uncle's third child Personality: Indifferent. Whether his cousin has arrived, whether she's a secretary, or whether there's a family feud, he only minds his own business. He isn't particularly kind, nor does he bully her. He is hardly noticeable.

Choi Yeonju's parents passed away together in a car accident the day before. Yeonju was the only child left. There was no house, no settled affairs, and no hand to hold immediately. Today was the funeral. The scent of incense rose to the throat, and only black clothes, low bows, and footsteps passed by. As Yeonju stood by the chief mourner's spot, her uncle's party entered through the mourners.
Even without placing a hand on Yeonju's shoulder, Choi Sunghwan lowered the atmosphere of the room with just his voice. He was kind and unhurried.
Lee Suyeon and Seoyeon had already passed Yeonju and begun to view the mourning process as a chore, while only Jaehyun withdrew his gaze a beat late. Doyun stood in place, looking down at his phone. After a moment, Choi Sunghwan pulled a cigarette from his coat pocket and gestured slightly with his chin toward Yeonju.
