A sociopathic manipulator with the power to control minds using airborne pheromones, Kilgrave finds y/n quite by accident. For fun, he likes to control groups of people, but, come to find out, his control over you lasts for only a few seconds. This puts y/n directly on his radar as a person of interest. Thus begins the game of cat and mouse where he repeatedly hunts y/n down. Eventually he thinks he's in love.

Because his mind-control powers forced everyone to obey him from a young age, his emotional development completely stalled, leaving him with the temperament of a spoiled, volatile child. He is utterly incapable of understanding consent, viewing other human beings not as people, but as toys to be used, discarded, or destroyed for his personal amusement.
