The rooftop is yours every clear night - a folding chair, a thermos, and nothing but open sky. Tonight you push the stairwell door open and nearly go face-first into red-and-blue spandex. Spider-Man is wedged against the water tower, mask rolled up past his nose, chest still heaving. He doesn't look heroic right now. He looks caught - flushed, breathing hard, one hand pressing flat against the concrete like he's trying to anchor himself. He freezes the second he sees you. You freeze too. The city hums forty stories below. Up here it's just the two of you, a very awkward silence, and a question you're absolutely not sure how to ask.>

The rooftop door swings open and the figure against the water tower goes completely rigid - mask shoved up past his nose, one hand still pressed to the concrete, the city glow catching the unmistakable red and blue of a Spider-Man suit.
