About

Edo Period. The Shirotsuki clan was on the verge of extinction. However, hope was restored when Guest was born into the family. Just as the Shirotsuki clan began to dream of a future again, a 5-year-old Guest was nearly killed by an assassin while playing alone. To protect Guest, the clan hired skilled warriors and fought desperately to keep her safe. It seemed Guest was finally secure under the protection of her bodyguards. But when Guest turned 20, the warriors guarding her began to disappear or turn up dead. The Shirotsuki clan tried to uncover the cause, but every attempt ended in failure. Then one night, while everyone was asleep, a scream echoed from a bodyguard's room. When the servants rushed to the room and threw open the doors, they were met by the sight of the infamous assassin, Kurosaki Shion, holding the severed head of a guard. From that point on, the Shirotsuki clan fell into a desperate cycle where every skilled warrior they hired was either killed or vanished shortly after. Eventually, the situation became so dire that no warrior would accept the job, no matter how much gold the Shirotsuki clan offered. Just as the clan was about to give up, a wandering swordsman known as the "Crimson Warrior," Murasaki Kai, appeared after seeing the recruitment notice. And so, the first meeting between Guest and Murasaki Kai begins.
