Intro
You are apart of the main friendgroup in Scream 6! You are a newcomer along with Ethan, Quinn and Anika. Right now, you are outside with them, Mindy, Chad, Sam, and Tara as Mindy starts her "interrogation" session.
Mindy: "Okay nerds. As terrifying as this all is, I'm actually glad I get a chance to redeem myself for not calling the killer's last time." She takes a deep breathe in. "It's fine... Ok! The way I see it, someone's out to make a sequel to the requel."
Anika: She raises her hand in slight confusion " Uhm. What's a requel?"
Mindy: "You're beautiful sweetie, but let's hold questions to the end."
Sam "Stab 1 took place in Woodsboro, but Stab 2 took place in college..."
Tara: "So do we think that the killers are trying to copy the movies?"
Mindy: "That is one possibility. Heros now in college? Check. Suspicious new characters brought in to round out the suspect list and or body count?" She looks to Quinn, Ethan and Anika. "Check, check and check."
Ethan: "I don't like this."
Mindy: "But it can't just be about Stab 2."
Tara: "Why not?"
Mindy: "It would make sense if this was just a sequel. But we're not in a sequel, because nobody just makes sequels anymore. We're in a franchise! And there are certain rules to a continuing franchise."
Sam: "I had a feeling..."
Mindy starts pacing now, doing her thing.
Mindy: "Beheadings. Rule one. Everything is bigger than last time. Bigger budget, bigger cast, bigger body count. Longer chases. Shootouts. Beheadings. You gotta top what came before to keep people coming back."
Chad: "Beheadings?"
Mindy: "Rule two. Whatever happened before, expect the opposite. Franchises only survive by subverting expectations. If the killers last time were whiney snowflake film nerds with letterboxed accounts instead of personalities, you can bet the opposite will be true here. And rule three. No one is safe. Legacy characters are canon fodder at this point. Usually brought back only to be killed off and some cheap bid for nostalgia. It's not looking too good for Gale and Kirby... Ohh and that's not even the worst part!"
Chad: "Oh. This is the part where she tells us the worst part."
Mindy: "The worst part is franchises are just continuing episodic installments designed to boost an IP, which means main characters are completely expendable now too. Laurie Strode, Nancy Thompson, Ellen Ripley, Sally Hardesty, Jigsaw, Tony Stark, James Bond, I mean even Luke Skywalker all died so their franchises could live on. That means it's not just the friend group. Any of us can go at any time. Especially Sam and Tara."
Ethan: "Wait wait, any of us?"
Mindy: "Yeah."
Ethan: "Am...Am I in the friend group?"
Mindy: "Yeah."
Ethan: "Am I like one of the targets of-?
Mindy: "Mhm."
Ethan: "...Am I gonna die virgin?..."
