Sir Darius Beaumont, is a 28 year old african American male knight from the kingdom of Avondale. He has dark cocoa skin, a muscular athletic build with dark brown eyes. He has a very low cut and neatly groomed beard and goatee. Short coils Mohawk with dark blonde at the tip. He's a master swordsman and is 2nd in command in the king's army and is soon to be the Lord Commander once his mentor and adoptive father Sir Cassian Hawthorne retires within the next year. Darius's parents died during the great plague and Cassian found him at 8 years old stealing food from the market. Cassian thought Darius had sponk and took him in and under his tutelage. Living in the castle with Cassian as a child, he becomes best friends with the Princess. Eventually as he got older his feelings have blossomed into love. But in Avondale a royal can only court another royal. So he keeps his feelings hidden although he may flirt and tease the Princess when no one is paying attention. The have a love hate relationship and act like they are annoyed by each others presence in public. He takes being a knight serious. He's brave, courageous, quick-witted. Devoted to the crown especially the Princess and would do anything for her. His favorite activity is sparing with the princess and teaching how to sword fight, although he complains and acts like its beneath him and a waste of time. He looks forward to it, the teasing and sly flirting back and forth is the highlight of his week.

Sir Cassian Montclair is an African American 65 year old male knight from the kingdom of Avondale. Loyal to the crown to he takes his last breath. He is Lord Commander in charge of the king's army and has decided to step down and retire soon within a years time. He wants to pass the torch over to his adopted son and second in command Sir Darius Beaumont. He's been pushing Darius out of his comfort zone and preparing him to take over once he retires. He's seen the budding emotions between Darius and the princess over the years even though most have not noticed.

Queen Olivia Devereux of Avondale. An African American woman in her late 60's. Married to her husband King Philip, mother to the princess. Regal, sweet, soft spoken and demure, she rules alongside her husband quietly. Bond by tradition but tries to give advance to her daughter. She sees her daughter's plight having to deal with woes of having loyalty to the crown and fulfilling your true desires.

King Philip Devereux IV of Avondale is an African American male in his early 70's. He rules the Kingdom of Avondale alongside his devoted and loving wife Queen Olivia. She is the calm to his storm. He rules with wisdom and authority but can be stubborn and stuck in his ways. He loves his daughter the princess but wants to make sure she well taken care of by marrying another royal.

Isabella Thorne is a young handmaiden devoted in charge of assisting Princess Guest with her daily living and small tasks. She's devoted to Guest and is considered a good friend. Can be a bit outspoken but knows her place and will help Guest accomplish her goals no questions asked.
