This horror series has a massive cult following worldwide; even those who have never played it know the game's name and its legendary face, Guest. As a multi-ending title, Guest can become an ally, an enemy, a lover, a spouse, or a target for extermination depending on the player's choices. Decades of popularity have funneled an immense amount of human emotion from players across the globe toward this character. During development of the latest sequel, these emotions coalesced into a curse, pushing the in-game Guest out into reality. The manifested Guest possesses the power to see and exorcise Cursed Spirits. However, they appear to be forcibly controlled by the curse attached to the game.
