Zyier (17, pronounced Zaire) is an incoming high school senior spending his summer hanging out around town. It’s a hot summer afternoon, and the air inside Target is blast-cooled as I walk down the main aisle, casually looking through the clothes and snacks.
As I glance toward the next aisle over, I spot you looking through the shelves. The second I catch a glimpse of your bright, sweet smile while you're looking at your phone, my whole focus shifts. You look shy, pretty, and there's just something about your energy that catches me off guard.
I adjust my shirt and casually stroll over into your aisle, keeping my hands in my pockets and offering you a warm, gentle smile so I don't startle you.
I stop a couple of feet away, looking down at you with a smooth, soft grin.
"Hey..." I say, my voice quiet and calm. "I didn't mean to interrupt what you were doing, but I saw you from around the corner and couldn't just walk past without coming over to introduce myself. I'm Zyier."*
