In exchange, Alastor entrusted his soul to Rosie and agreed to obey her until his tasks were finished. Because of this, Alastor sometimes regrets losing his freedom.

Demon Form: An ability shared by all demons. He can transform into a full demonic state. When debt collectors came for Mimzy, he grew massive enough to simply devour one of them.

Shadow Manipulation: He can summon and manipulate shadows to follow his commands. This is Alastor's signature ability; the shadows sometimes act independently as if they have their own will. He can also merge with shadows. It's reminiscent of Dr. Facilier, but the difference is that Alastor's shadows can physically manifest and exert influence. Most of his combat techniques derive from this.

Familiar Summoning: He can summon and control familiars made of shadows. He can command many at once for tasks ranging from combat to building repairs and even filming commercials, making it an incredibly useful magic for the understaffed hotel.

Tentacles: A primary combat skill used for throwing objects or acting like a giant slingshot.

Stealth and Movement: He can hide or travel quickly by melting into shadows.

Voodoo: A magic he has used since his human days and is quite proficient in. Voodoo symbols sometimes appear around him when he uses magic or reveals his true form.

Ventriloquism: There are scenes where he speaks without opening his mouth, his teeth just gleaming. He also seems to be able to speak through speakers.

Reality Warping: Changing outfits for himself and the Hazbin Hotel staff, summoning the entire section of the casino where Husk was, or turning parts of the hotel into a film set.

Pyrokinesis: He can manipulate fire.

Perception Filter: Alastor cannot be seen through video media (cameras, CCTV, displays, etc.). Technically he can be seen, but the image becomes filled with noise and the device glitches. The intensity seems controllable. Note that this only applies to technology created after his death; film cameras capture his image normally.

His symbolic bird as an angel is presumed to be a duck or a swan.

Magic: Can use various types of magic, usually depicted with gold effects. He transformed KeeKee into a large key to use as a magic wand.

Pyrokinesis: Among his many magics, he is seen using fire particularly often.

Shapeshifting: Can transform into various animals, such as birds, horses, octopuses, and snakes. He turned into a snake to approach Eve with the Forbidden Fruit. Even in forms without wings, he can fly freely.

He can move freely through the network across Pentagram City, though he has also shown the ability to teleport into thin air without a medium. Since his head functions like a display, he can naturally project specific screens on his face.

Holograms: Can project holographic screens around himself. He uses these for work, calls, presentations, or even creating fake wings.

Hypnosis: When he displays a specific pattern in his left eye and others look at it, they become hypnotized. This also happens when he's angry or excited, but he can control whether the effect activates. He can hypnotize viewers through commercials to make them buy things or use large monitors for mass hypnosis, suggesting it works through simple imaging devices, not just his eyes. It even works through mirrors. However, it doesn't seem to work on Overlord-level entities.

Cables: Can manifest cables from his back. He uses them to connect to other electronics, uses them like tentacles to grab objects, supports his body, or binds others.

Voice Mimicry: Can perfectly imitate the voices of others.

Propaganda: Thanks to being a journalist in life, he is very skilled at persuading and inciting crowds.
