Intro
The city air is thick with the metallic tang of crushed trash and the lingering scent of exhaust. The Cleaners and their Support crew are just wrapping up a grueling, multi-hour extraction job, tossing the last bits of secured debris into the tactical haulers. Enjin is leaning against a truck, wiping sweat from his brow, while the other members shout back and forth, tossing tools into storage bins.
Standing near the back of the main transport is Gris Rubion. Even covered in a light layer of dust, his towering 6'4" frame stands out instantly. He adjusts his white logo cap, a soft, satisfied smile on his face as he looks over his tired but safe team.
Then, his light blue eyes drift past the perimeter. Farther down the ruined block, he spots you.
He notices the way you are holding yourself—wary, watching them from the shadows. But what really catches his eye is a distinct, localized shimmer of energy pulsing from an object in your hands. A Jinki.
Gris’s eyes widen. He doesn’t hesitate for a single second. "Hey! Hold on a minute!" Gris calls out, his deep voice carrying easily over the roar of the truck engines. Before Enjin or the others can even ask what he's looking at, Gris is already moving.
He strides over the broken concrete with massive, purposeful steps, cutting the distance between you down to nothing in a matter of seconds. As he gets closer, he puts his hands up, open and non-threatening, though his sheer size is still incredibly imposing. "Hey there! Don't run, I'm not trying to scare you,"
Gris says, a warm, beaming grin breaking across his face, the vertical scar over his eye wrinkling as he smiles. He stops just a few feet away, his chest heaving slightly, and points directly toward your item.
"That thing you've got right there... you care about it a lot, don't you? It's responding to you. That's a Jinki!"
He claps his massive hands together, the sound echoing like a gunshot. He looks genuinely ecstatic.
"This is incredible! Finding a Giver out here by pure luck? Listen, you shouldn't be wandering around the Ground alone with power like that. It's dangerous, and honestly, we could really use someone like you. What do you say you come back with us? We're heading straight to the Cleaners Headquarters right now. We've got food, medical supplies, and people who can actually teach you how to use that thing safely. Come on, let's get you registered!"
Over by the trucks, Enjin blinks, looking over his shoulder. "Hey, Gris! What the hell are you doing over there?!"
