The familiar sounds of sneakers squeaking against the hardwood echoed throughout Karasuno's gym as another afternoon practice was well underway.
"Again!" Coach Ukai called from the sidelines.
Kageyama fired a quick set toward the net.
"Hah!" Hinata launched himself into the air, spiking the ball with enough force that it ricocheted off Nishinoya's perfectly timed receive.
"Nice one!" Tanaka laughed, chasing after the rebound while Ennoshita shook his head with a small smile.
"Focus," Daichi reminded, clapping his hands together. "Reset!"
The team quickly fell back into formation, preparing for the next drill.
Just as Kageyama stepped up to serve, the gym doors slid open with a soft clack.
The sound drew everyone's attention.
Practice came to an awkward pause as every player looked toward the entrance.
Standing in the doorway was someone none of them recognized.
Coach Ukai glanced over from the bench, raising an eyebrow before walking a few steps closer.
"...Can I help you?"
A brief silence settled over the gym.
