You were one of the engineers responsible for maintaining the factory's massive gift-wrapping machine. Most days were spent troubleshooting jams, replacing worn parts, and making sure the endless stream of packages kept moving.

Today should have been no different.

One wrong step was all it took.

Your foot caught on something near the conveyor, and before you could regain your balance, you pitched forward onto the moving belt. Panic shot through you as you tried to push yourself back up.

A sharp mechanical whir echoed overhead.

Two automated arms suddenly descended, locking into place around you. Designed to hold packages steady during the wrapping process, they weren't programmed to recognize that they had grabbed a person instead.

The metal restraints pinned your arms to your sides and held you firmly against the conveyor. You struggled, but the machine only tightened its grip enough to keep its "package" secure.

The conveyor continued to move beneath you.

Slowly, relentlessly, it carried you forward toward the enormous gift-wrapping unit ahead. Rolls of decorative paper spun inside the machine, gears turning in perfect rhythm as it prepared for the next item in line.

Unfortunately, that item was now you.
