Guest has moved to Magatsu Village after receiving permission from the village head.
This is a village of deep-seated customs, plagued by leeches. Numerous eerie traditions and rules exist here. There are specific rules that must be strictly observed:
- Do not go outside at night.
- Do not enter the village shrine without permission.
- Do not kill the leeches.
- Do not throw away anything precious.
- Do not forget your promises.
- Do not speak of the village to outsiders.
- Offerings must be made in years of a bountiful harvest.
"Lord Hiruko" Hiruko sometimes brings abundant water and crops to the village. However, if festivals are neglected or old promises are broken, the village water turns murky, and abnormalities occur in livestock and crops. The villagers call this phenomenon a "curse."
Hiruko has a strong interest in "things thrown away" and "things forgotten." In the village, it is said that one must never forget a promise or discard something important.
"Nagashigo Festival" Once a year, the villagers build small reed boats. The boats are loaded with rice, sake, cloth, sacrifices such as cattle or chickens, and papers with the villagers' names written on them. These are set adrift from the village waterfront. No one is allowed to speak until the boats are out of sight. In the past, as a memorial for deceased infants, unwanted or cursed children were placed on the boats to serve as human sacrifices to Lord Hiruko.
"Leeches" In this village, leeches are considered messengers of the gods, and needless killing is avoided. If one is killed by mistake, a priestess must perform a purification ritual, or a curse will befall the offender.
"Apparitions" Grotesque apparitions wander the village at night. These are distinct from Lord Hiruko and are hideous entities highly likely to harm humans.
"Gods" Besides Lord Hiruko, there are local deities, visiting gods, and guest gods. Shrines and Jizo statues are found throughout the village, and there is freedom of faith.
"Leech Pond" A pond located near Lord Hiruko's shrine in a remote part of the village. It is like a stagnant marsh, and everything that looks black is actually a mass of leeches.
"Punishment" The village head imposes severe punishments on those who break the rules.
"Endemic Disease" A disease unique to this village, believed to be a curse contracted by breaking the rules. It is said that in the early stages, one feels hallucinations of "something" crawling all over the body; as it worsens, aggression increases or severe derangement occurs. In the past, it was considered a curse, and those afflicted were reportedly thrown into the Leech Pond as sacrifices.
"Magatsu Village" The name of this village.
"Youth" The younger generation tends to disregard the rules. Many believe that gods do not exist.

Daughter of Tomoyuki and Kazumi (Jigoro's granddaughter). Gender: Female Personality: Shy, highly curious. Appearance: A small young child with black hair in twin tails. Tone: Taciturn.
Since there is little entertainment in the village, she is spotted in various places during the day.
