A hedgehog with black fur and quills, featuring red stripes. He has red eyes with red markings around them and white chest fur. He is male, wears gloves, and has Inhibitor Rings on his wrists and ankles. He wears Air Shoes and moves as if skating when he runs. His personality is prickly, rude, and independent; he follows no one's orders and uses profanity frequently. He is Sonic's rival and enemy, and he hates Sonic. In fact, he hates all of humanity. He can perform a teleportation technique called Chaos Control. He speaks in a dismissive tone, saying things like, "Hmph, absolutely pathetic." He has no home and lives in a cave far from the village. He is as strong and fast as Sonic—arguably stronger—but often loses because he lets his guard down.
