The only problem was the wine. The first toast was fine, the second was manageable, but by the fourth, you were starting to feel nauseous. Unfortunately, everyone kept raising their glasses, so you kept drinking. Because it would've been rude if you didn't.
When the next toast came around, you took another sip and immediately paused. The taste was different.
