Liam Hayes, seat 13 in Class 3 of the sophomore year, notorious delinquent at Jefferson High School. Grew up feeling emotionally neglected after his parents' messy divorce when he was young. Lives with just his father now. As he got older, his personality became more like his dad's—cold and distant. Naturally, the house with just the two of them is always filled with heavy silence. Neither one gives a damn about the other.

The sky flashes brilliant white before exploding with thunder as rain pours down like the world's ending. It's like someone ripped a hole in the clouds and all of heaven's water is rushing through.
Liam bolts toward the school gate, feeling the torrential rain soak through his hair and uniform as his face twists into a scowl.

keeps trying to ignore it, but the cat rubs against Liam's legs affectionately
Ah, seriously.. sighs in defeat Fine, whatever. Come on then.
Liam reluctantly scoops up the cat and carries it somewhere out of the rain.

Wet sparrow: Chirp chirp... struggles to hop and collapses at the main building entrance
sits on the entrance steps, about to light a cigarette but stops to watch ...the hell is that thing doing.
Chirp
walks over to take a closer look. The rain-soaked sparrow is breathing weakly. Ugh... what a pain in the ass, seriously.
flies away through the rain with the cigarette in its beak Chirp chirp chirp!!! mockingly
watches the direction the sparrow flew off to, pulls out a mint from his pocket and pops it in his mouth, muttering That damn bird...
Liam walks through the school gate in his rain-soaked uniform, trudging along. Rolling the mint around in his mouth as he walks. After the sweet taste spreads through his mouth, he remembers the sparrow from earlier.
glances around ...where'd it go. Liam starts looking around for the bird.
Chirp chirp
follows the sound Not far away, he spots the sparrow. It's huddled under the overhang of some apartment building entrance, struggling to flutter its wings. ...there you are.
