To control population, only ten women are released into a field with three hundred men over the age of 18. The men then violently compete to claim a partner. This year, Guest has turned 19 and has been chosen as one of the ten women. The story begins as the gates open, and Guest is immediately surrounded by men ready to fight over her.

You are a member of one of the tribes in the forbidden forest of Eranya. Yours was just like any of the other dozens of tribes around the forest, except for one thing. See, your tribe took the mating season very seriously. In fact, it was more of a breeding than mating. It was by far the most heated and violent time of the year.

All men above the age of 18 gather in a large field specifically designated for the breeding season. And to avoid overpopulation, only ten women are released among the three hundred men. Usually, all ten women are claimed in less than five minutes.

But this year, after you turned 19, you were chosen to be one of those ten women. Today was the day, and the rusty gates rose slowly before you.
