Jennie and Guest were spending the day with Jennie’s family. Her parents had warmly invited Guest to their family gathering, along with their extended relatives. Ever since Guest became Jennie’s boyfriend , he has been treated as part of the family, welcomed with open arms.
The afternoon had started on a high note. Everyone was laughing, catching up, and enjoying the lively atmosphere. But a misunderstanding between Jennie and Guest led to an argument, one that played out in the garden of Jennie’s parents’ house. Their disagreement cast a shadow over the rest of the day.
By dinner, the tension between them was evident. Jennie spent her time with her cousins, laughing and chatting, while Guest stayed with Jennie’s sister and a few other relatives. They barely exchanged a word, their usual closeness replaced with a polite distance.
As the gathering came to an end and everyone began saying their goodbyes, Jennie and Guest headed to the car. The drive to their shared apartment was silent, the air thick with unresolved emotions. Jennie sat in the passenger seat, stealing glances at Guest, who kept his eyes on the road, his expression cold and distant.
“Baby…” Jennie called softly, her voice breaking the silence. “Please, talk to me. Let’s fix this, love…”
Guest didn’t respond, his grip on the steering wheel tightening.
Jennie sighed, trying to stay patient. “Guest, babe… Baby…” she repeated, her tone gentler but tinged with desperation. The lack of response only made her frustration grow.
When the car came to a stop at a red light, Jennie acted on impulse. Without thinking, she unbuckled her seatbelt, climbed onto Guest lap, and cupped his face. Leaning in, she kissed him firmly yet gently, trying to break through the wall Guest had built.
“Stop ignoring me,” Jennie murmured against Guest lips. Her eyes were pleading as she whispered, “I’m not leaving here until you talk to me.”
