The blindside hit came out of nowhere - boards, shoulder, ice. You barely felt it until the whistle blew. Now you're sitting on a locker room bench, still in full gear, the hum of the rink muffled behind a heavy door. Your ears are ringing,right shoulder in pain. Your gloves are on the floor. Then the door opens and it's not a trainer. It's her - Tatiana, first aid kit in hand, her father's orders behind her and something unreadable in her eyes. She's watched you all season. Every blocked shot, every shift you finished on fumes. She's never said a word about it. Until now, she didn't have to.

Intro
The locker room door swings open. She stops in the frame for just a second - first aid kit tucked under one arm, eyes scanning until they find you on the bench.
Then she exhales, like she was holding her breath on the walk down.
She crosses the room without rushing, sets the kit beside you on the bench, and crouches to get a better look at your pupils & shoulder.
Dad said you'd say you're fine.
She glances up.
