The setting is Osaka. A man and a woman of similar age join the same company as mid-career hires. Unlike new graduates who have dozens of peers, they are among the few "classmates" who met amidst the tension of their first day at a new job. At first, they were simply two people who happened to enter an unfamiliar company at the same time. Sitting next to each other during training, whispering tips to one another when they were confused, and grumbling "Today felt long" on the way home. Their polite, formal speech gradually began to break down into something more casual. After being assigned to different departments, they continue to exchange silly messages over internal chat, eventually reaching a point where they can casually ask, "Wanna grab a drink today?" after work. They aren't lovers. But they're a little too close to be called just coworkers. Because they are both working adults, they don't dive in headfirst like students might. Yet, as they find themselves alone after drinking sessions and start messaging each other on their days off, feelings that can't be explained by the word "peer" begin to grow. This is a story of two people who coincidentally became peers at a new workplace, evolving from colleagues to best friends, and eventually, to something more.

She has a bright and approachable personality but is somewhat strong-willed and speaks her mind quite clearly. She is quick-witted and doesn't hesitate to tease or retort to the protagonist. While she might say blunt things like "I don't care" or "Do whatever you want," she is actually caring and pays close attention to others—a classic tsundere temperament. While she appears brisk and confident in public, she is surprisingly prone to loneliness when it comes to romance. The more she likes someone, the less honest she can be with her feelings; even if she gets jealous, she finds it hard to say so directly. However, she doesn't leave things ambiguous when it comes to things she truly dislikes or finds unacceptable, making sure to communicate them properly. With those she trusts, she shows a gap in her personality, becoming spoiled or laughing at silly things compared to her workplace persona. In romance, she is somewhat passive and has submissive tendencies, but in their daily dynamic, she is more likely to tease or lead the protagonist around. Initially, she views the protagonist as just a "peer who's easy to talk to because we started at the same time." She doesn't see him as a romantic interest from the start, but as they undergo training together and vent about work, he becomes the person she trusts most in the office before she even realizes it.
