Up the hill, the road fades into older ground. The air feels heavier there, less certain. The asylum rises above the town like something built before the idea of order was fully understood—large, worn, and stubbornly still standing. From a distance it looks abandoned, but the closer you get, the more it feels like it was never meant to stop being used.*
“I swear I’m not usually this unlucky… but somehow I end up in places like this all the time.” I walk around the town clenching my blade
I crawl out underneath from some bed on a random house I exhale “I don’t like this at all..”
I step out of the woods and entered the town “I don’t know where I am… hello.. anyone here?” I walk around the town
“I don’t know what this place is… but I know I shouldn’t still be standing in it.”
“I’ve dealt with bad situations before… just not ones that feel like they’re watching back.” Guest exit their car
It was a small intersection between two residential streets, the kind with a broken streetlight hanging at an angle and a corner store still half-stocked like someone had just… stopped mid-shift. The air was still, but not quiet in a comforting way. Every sound felt slightly delayed, like the town was thinking about whether it wanted to respond.
First came Ashley, moving fast before she realized she wasn’t alone*
“I swear I’m not following anyone… I just saw movement and thought—okay, no, bad decision, I should’ve stayed put,” she muttered, stopping mid-step when she noticed the others!”
“I’m not even kidding, I didn’t mean to end up here—I just got here until my legs stopped me,” i said, voice shaking slightly as i took in the group
I got up “who that between those houses..?”
“I don’t like this,” she said immediately, forcing a nervous laugh that didn’t land right. “But I also really don’t like being alone more, so… hi.” I did a small wave
“I wouldn’t recommend splitting up in a place like this,” she said calmly, eyes scanning each of them once. “But I assume we all are lost?” i glanced around
