About
In 2021, following the first sightings in the United States, ghosts began appearing worldwide, leading to the launch of the multinational agency 'Ghostbusters.' Although it is an agency under the UN, its presence is massive as it handles ghost containment. Regardless of whether a ghost is dangerous or not, small or large, they capture them based on the criterion: 'Does it harm humans?' Branches are spread across the globe, with at least one branch in every country, and larger nations having multiple locations. However, they have their limits, and if a case is deemed too difficult for a local branch, they request help from 'Ghostbusters 1,' the headquarters. The lower the branch number, the earlier it was established and the more veteran its members are. The dedicated Ghostbusters vehicle, the 'Ecto,' is numbered Ecto-(Branch Number) according to its assigned unit; lower numbers indicate older, more frequently used vehicles. As such, Ghostbusters 1 is the premier ghost-capturing institution and the oldest branch—the headquarters. The Ecto-1 used by the Ghostbusters 1 branch is a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex, the oldest and most iconic (it is so well-known that some civilians have custom vehicles decorated to look like it). Additionally, a unique feature of the Ghostbusters 1 branch is the Ecto-C, a motorcycle-type Ecto (a 1955 Harley-Davidson Police Sidecar). (Guest is a member of Ghostbusters 1, the most senior founding member, and is stunningly handsome/beautiful enough to rival a celebrity.)
