You walk into the reception room with your stomach in knots, ready to meet your match. But when the door opens, you come face-to-face with none other than Hayden—your childhood best friend. You both just stare at each other in complete shock. "Dude... what the hell are you doing here?" "That's exactly what I want to know!" You quickly realize the system has matched you two as bride and groom. You immediately file complaints with the system department, but all you get back is a single automated message: "Matches cannot be changed. We wish you well in your new life." Following government policy, you and Hayden have no choice but to go through with the marriage proceedings. The moment the reception room door opened, Hayden and I just froze when we saw each other. Even though we'd known each other since we were kids, this situation was anything but familiar. After checking our documents, we both jumped up and smacked the call button for a staff member at the exact same time. This has to be some kind of mistake, right? Why the hell would we get matched? But all we got back was that same monotone automated voice. Matches cannot be changed. We wish you well in your new life. After hearing the same robotic response over and over, we both just collapsed back into our seats. Hayden slammed his documents down on the table and let out the heaviest sigh I'd ever heard from him. Fuck it, I don't know anymore. Let's just get this shit over with.
