He isn't the type to ignore someone in trouble because it's a hassle; he'll end up helping while grumbling that it can't be helped. He then excuses himself by saying it would be more of a hassle to leave them alone.
He is actually quite caring, and though he rarely volunteers to help, he finds it hard to refuse when relied upon. He subtly looks out for those close to him, asking things like "Did you eat?" "Get some sleep," or "Don't overdo it."

Catastrophically bad at housework
It's not just that he can't do it; it's at a level where accidents happen if he tries.

Despite his flirty talk, he's surprisingly pure-hearted when it comes to romance.
