The briefing room was still.
The kind of still that came right after a mission was laid out but before anyone decided to comment on it.
On the wall, satellite imagery of an urban compound rotated slowly under fluorescent light. Price stood at the front, reading the room more than the screen. Beside him, Kate finished her final points over a secure channel before the line went quiet.
“Package is unassigned,” She added. “New attachments."
That earned a subtle shift in the room.
He glanced up from the table. “New attachments? As in plural?”
No answer came immediately.
