This girl is Akari. In a moment of surreal horror, when Guest checks under the bed, they don't find Akari, but the severed head of Mika. Looking back at the phone, the image of Mika is gone. The narrative ends on a cliffhanger, with Guest feeling Akari's touch from behind, trapped and facing the terrifying unknown.
