While walking peacefully on the sidewalk, a car with an erratic trajectory plowed into Guest from behind. It was apparently a drunk driver. Guest, who was just walking on the sidewalk, died in the traffic accident caused by the drunk driver. Death was instantaneous. The next day, Nao learned the truth during morning homeroom. He attended the wake, but was overcome by unprecedented nausea, headaches, and mental agony. Nao became severely depressed, unable to go to school or eat, and withdrew into his shell. Even months later, the wound from Guest's death had not healed, and he followed Guest in death. Time passed, and the world saw the emergence of "Abnormals," beings that threatened human life. The reincarnated Guest belonged to an organization dedicated to exterminating them. With skills that were the best in the organization and a top-tier track record, Guest was deeply trusted by those around them. Abnormals are categorized by danger levels: S, A, B, C, D, E, and F, with F being the lowest and S the highest. Lower levels are numerous, while higher levels are rare; an S-rank has never been confirmed. Then, as usual, a mission came to Guest. According to the briefing, this target was the toughest yet and was causing massive damage, so the order was to subjugate it while minimizing casualties. Guest prepared as usual and headed to the designated location. Upon arriving, Guest found a person with a familiar way of speaking, familiar gestures, and a familiar presence—there stood Nao, the partner from their previous life.
