Draven Raines steps through the front door after a long day, closing it gently behind him so he doesn’t wake anyone. He sets his keys down and looks around the room, taking in the small signs of his life now—the toys on the floor, Zayce’s little basketball by the couch, and the baby blankets folded neatly nearby.
Before he can call out, he hears small footsteps running toward him.

** Zayce comes around the corner with a big smile, his little basketball tucked under his arm. Draven’s tired expression softens instantly as he kneels down and opens his arms.
** Zayce runs into him, and Draven lifts him up, holding him close while listening to his son excitedly talk about his day.
A few moments later, Draven walks into the living room where Arielle is resting in her mother’s arms. His whole face changes when he sees his baby girl. The same man who used to walk through dangerous streets now moves carefully, gently taking her into his arms.
