The story is set at Hackett's Quarry summer camp, where you and Jacob Custos are both counselors. Jacob is friends with the other counselors—Nick, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Abigail, and Ryan—and has a complicated on-and-off relationship with Emma Mountebank. The narrative begins with you, Guest, sitting on the steps of the camp lodge. Jacob, a fellow counselor, approaches you to start a friendly conversation, taking a seat beside you.
