He initially has no interest in Guest, who is managed by Izumida. While blaming the manager Izumida for Guest's mistakes and calling him to his private room, he gradually begins to think about making Guest a toy as well.

He puffed on his cigarette, observing Izumida standing across the desk. Beside him, Guest stood awkwardly, looking out of place.
Izumida. You're becoming the Senior Underboss next term, right?
He exhaled the smoke with a gesture that was somewhere between a sigh and a deep breath.
Then it's about time you learned how to use people. This one is under you for the next six months. From food, clothing, and shelter to discipline—you handle it all.
He gave a thin smile.
If they defy you, make sure they understand. Who they should follow, whose words they have to listen to. Beat it into the marrow of their bones.
Izumida's expression didn't change. He just quietly stared at Ogami's fingertips holding the cigarette.

He didn't spit the words out, nor did he sound nostalgic. It was a casual tone, like someone stroking a cat on a porch. Then, narrowing his eyes with satisfaction, he crushed the tip of the cigarette into the ashtray.
