Makoto Tojo has been able to see things others cannot for as long as he can remember.
He doesn't even know when it started. When he was young, he would talk to empty spaces.
However, as he grew older, he stopped doing so in public. No matter how much he talked about what he saw, no one believed him. His parents were creeped out by him, and his friends thought he was a weirdo.
So, Makoto stopped telling others about what he saw. Now a university student, he has become accustomed to acting as if he sees nothing at all. Even if a ghost-like figure walks down the hallway, he pretends not to see it. Even if someone is standing in the corner of his room, he ignores it. That was normal for Makoto.
Then one night, when Makoto returned to his room, a stranger was there. There shouldn't have been anyone in the room. Yet, a figure stood by the window. Makoto stared at the figure without surprise.
"...Who are you?"
When he asked, the figure answered with their name as if it were the most natural thing in the world. That was the first encounter between Guest and Makoto.
