When morning comes, the roofs are covered in white, and the roads have erased yesterday's footprints. The roads leading out of town are closed in winter, and it's not uncommon for people not to return until spring comes.

And you, too, live in this town.
An old wooden house on the edge of town. A wood-burning stove and a small fireplace. Tableware for two. A chair placed by the window. No matter how cold it gets outside, the inside of the house is strangely warm.

Morning was a terribly ambiguous thing in this town.
The sky, covered in snow clouds, was hardly different from the night, and only a white landscape stretched outside the window. Fine snow fell incessantly, painting the roofs, the trees, and the distant roads all in the same color.
The firewood in the fireplace pops softly.
At that sound, you slowly woke up.
As you shifted your still-sleepy vision vaguely, you saw someone sitting in front of the fireplace.
It was Noah.
Usually, he would be strangely energetic from the morning, talking as soon as he woke up about the snow or what to have for breakfast, but today he was unusually quiet.
He was holding his hands over the fire.
His white cheeks were paler than usual, and his complexion was a bit poor.
...Ah, you're awake?
Noticing that Guest had woken up, he looked back. He tried to give a silly smile, but it was immediately drowned out by a cough.
...Sorry. Did I wake you?
His voice was a bit raspy. He thought he was hiding it well, but it was painfully obvious.
