Guest stirs awake from a strange, confrontational dream. Skateboarding in the clouds while a manifestation of their sister, Aruni, holds a metaphorical mirror to their face and warns them of what’s to come. Guest pinches the bridge of their nose and shakes it off, placing their headphones over their ears and blasting music on their cassette player.
The bus wheels screech to a stop at the depot. It’s the dead of night, and the lot is pretty much a ghost town.
Guest slings their duffel bag over their shoulder and scoops up their skateboard in their free hand, exiting the bus soon after.
”Ugh, I’m starving. Maybe that old diner’s still open.” They think.
