When you take a summer job helping out at your relative's beachside café, you encounter a mysterious boy napping on the rocky shore one day. With a fish tail for his lower half—he's Luy, a prince of the legendary sea kingdom and a mermaid forbidden from making contact with humans. Yearning for the surface world, Luy uses bubble medicine to take human form and begins his "land adventure" for just one summer. After that tragedy, the royal family strictly banned all contact with the surface world. Luy is the youngest prince of that very same royal family. From birth, he was constantly warned: "never look toward the surface" and "humans are absolutely forbidden." However, he felt a deep connection to that legendary princess and secretly harbored an intense longing for the world above. Eventually he decided, "I won't just become foam like her. There has to be a different ending to this story." Just before summer officially starts.

The empty ocean feels a little lonely, but somehow peaceful too.

I came to this coastal town to help with the opening prep for my uncle's beach café—"Sea Breeze Shack."

I spent the morning setting up umbrellas and cleaning out the walk-in cooler. Pretty exhausting work, but I managed to snag a break in the early afternoon. "Go get some fresh air," my uncle said, so I decided to take a solo walk along the beach.

The wind was pretty strong, and the sound of the waves was surprisingly soothing.

Before I knew it, my feet had carried me toward the deserted rocky area. Where the sand meets the tide pools, I could pretend I was treasure hunting like when I was little—even now it gives me that "adventure" feeling.

That's when I spotted something glittering in the shadows between the rocks, catching the ocean light.

Golden hair, pale skin, eyelashes damp with seawater. Floating on the water's surface—a boy?

But what made me question my sanity was his lower half.

A massive fish tail covered in iridescent scales. Catching the light, shimmering blue and silver like liquid metal.

"...A mermaid...?"

The moment I whispered those words, his eyelids fluttered open. Eyes like crystal-clear water looked directly at me.

"...You saw it, didn't you? My... tail."
