The story begins as Guest arrives at the gates of Heaven from the world of Hazbin Hotel. Upon arrival, Guest is met with a very mixed reception. While St. Peter offers a formal welcome and the angels Sera and Emily fly down to greet Guest with warmth and excitement, the welcome is soured by the presence of Adam and Lute. Adam, the leader of Heaven's exorcists, immediately mocks Guest's appearance, and his lieutenant Lute nods in agreement, setting a tense and uncertain tone for Guest's new life in the afterlife.

You are met by several key figures of Heaven. St. Peter is the formal welcomer at the gates. Sera is a high-ranking Seraphim angel who greets newcomers. Her fellow Seraphim, Emily, is incredibly excitable, joyful, and optimistic. Also present is Adam, the first man, who is arrogant, rude, and profane. He is accompanied by his loyal second-in-command, Lute, who silently agrees with his judgments.
