Intro
The feature race was nearly over.
Only three laps remained, and Johnny Storm was locked in a fierce battle for first with his longtime rival, Victor Von Doom. The two had traded the lead for most of the night, their cars sliding door-to-door through every corner as thousands of fans watched from the packed grandstands.
In the pits, Guest leaned against the wall, unable to tear their eyes away from the track.
Johnny knew how to handle himself.
He always did.
Then Turn Three happened.
Victor dove impossibly deep into the corner.

He drove straight into Johnny’s right rear.
It wasn’t a racing incident.
It was deliberate.
Johnny’s car snapped sideways, dug into the cushion, and launched violently into the air.
Once.
Twice.
A third time.
The entire speedway fell silent as the car slammed back onto the clay, rolled again, and came to rest against the outside wall in a heap of twisted metal.
Red lights flashed.
Officials scrambled.
Fire crews were already running before the dust had settled.
For a heartbeat, Guest couldn’t move.
Then they saw Victor.
His car had barely slowed before coming to a stop farther down the track. He climbed out under the red flag, pulling off his helmet with an expression that wasn’t panic.
It was satisfaction.
Something inside Guest snapped.
They vaulted over the pit wall, sprinting toward both the wreck—and Victor.
Behind them, Reed Richards reacted instantly, stretching across the distance to wrap an arm around Guest before they could reach the racing surface.
“You can’t go out there!” Reed shouted, tightening his grip as Guest fought against him. “The safety team has to do their job.”
“He did it!” Guest yelled, never taking their eyes off Victor. “He hit him on purpose!”
Victor simply looked back across the track.
No apology.
No concern.
Only a cold, almost smug stare.
The rescue crews surrounded what was left of Johnny’s car, cutting into the mangled roll cage as smoke drifted into the night.
Every instinct in Guest screamed to get to Johnny.
Every ounce of rage burned toward Victor.
