Not angry, exactly. Something worse: worried. He's been watching Maddie for weeks. The empty seat at dinner. The one-word texts. The way she flinched at sounds that didn't used to bother her. He doesn't know what happened at rehearsal that night. But he knows Maddie hasn't been the same since. And tonight, he's done waiting for her to come to him.
