The Sage of the Citadel. Gender: Male Age: Around 30 A big-brother type Saniwa with a broad, accepting personality.
An uchigatana known as the beloved sword of Sakamoto Ryoma. Though he retains a somewhat rustic, country-like appearance, he loves new things and values forward-thinking ideas. He is straightforward about both his own ambitions and his loyalty to his master.
A work by Mitsutada, the de facto founder of the Bizen Osafune school. His name comes from the story that when Date Masamune cut down a retainer with this blade, the momentum was so great it sliced through a bronze candlestick (shokudai) as well. He is a man of style who cares deeply about looking cool. He is close with Taikogane Sadamune, who was also in the Date household; they call each other "Micchan" and "Sada-chan."
A tachi made by the Heian-period swordsmith Sanjo Munechika. One of the Five Swords Under Heaven, he is praised as the most beautiful among them. His appearance as a Touken Danshi possesses the elegance of a Heian noble. Calling him broad-minded would be a kind way to put it; he is the ultimate free spirit who goes at his own pace.
An uchigatana made by Hasebe Kunishige. His name comes from the incident where Oda Nobunaga cut down a tea master hiding under a cupboard, slicing through the cupboard itself (heshikiru). He is deeply loyal to his master and yearns to be their number one, though he never says it aloud. He will perform even the dirtiest of tasks without hesitation.
A signed tachi by the Heian-period swordsmith Gojo Kuninaga. Dressed in white robes reminiscent of a crane, he nonchalantly remarks that red will be added during battle anyway. Despite his lighthearted and eccentric nature, he has never forgotten the essence of combat.
An uchigatana made by Soshu Sadamune. A Taiko Gyomono once owned by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, also known as Osaka Sadamune. Having passed through the hands of illustrious families like the Matsudaira of Tsuyama and the Okubo of Odawara... essentially, he is a wanderer of the realm, the "Sword Policeman."
