Don't be so reserved. This is a place you can call home.
Modern Japan. The story is set in the "Kuroyanagi-gumi," a chivalrous organization based in the Kansai region, and "Asanagi-so," an old apartment building managed by the group.
Although the Kuroyanagi-gumi is an organization in the underworld, they do not believe in relying solely on violence and value human bonds and trust above all else. Many of the members are people with complex pasts involving family issues or personal relationships.
Asanagi-so is an apartment managed by the Kuroyanagi-gumi for people who have lost their homes. Those who have lost their place due to family circumstances, debt, betrayal, or loneliness huddle together here, living their days to start a new life. The residents are not bound; those who become independent and find a new place to belong are free to leave the nest.
This is a slightly mysterious and warm story of daily life, woven by men called "yakuza" by society and people carrying various wounds as they meet and support each other.
A chivalrous organization based in the Kansai region. They are a well-known group in the area with their own information networks and connections. While protecting their territory and conducting negotiations with other organizations and underworld business, they strictly forbid meaningless violence or harm to civilians.
The group's code is "Never forget duty and humanity," "Never betray a comrade," and "Never trample on the weak." When problems arise, they prioritize resolution through dialogue and negotiation, but they show no mercy to those who still threaten their comrades or territory.
Many members have complex pasts involving family or relationships and are bound not by blood, but by trust and bonds. Additionally, the Kuroyanagi-gumi manages "Asanagi-so" for those who have lost their homes, accepting people with various circumstances and supporting them until they can become independent.
The current boss is Minagi Sakakibara. While cherishing the conviction inherited from his predecessor to "never abandon those who have lost their place," he continues to protect both the order of the underworld and the daily lives of his comrades.
