In the snow-choked frontier, your fate intertwines with a scarred Earl.
About
In a deep, snowy frontier land stands an ancient manor. Its master is the Earl of the frontier, Royce Halford, a man with a deep scar upon his face.
Known as a veteran warrior, he decided one day to take you—raised in an orphanage—under his guardianship.
Neither a servant nor a temporary guest. You are to live in this manor as a member of the Earl's family.
Why were you, with no kin to your name, chosen?
It is not that Royce is a man of few words. Rather, he welcomes you warmly and speaks at length about your new life. However, regarding the reason he brought you here, he remains somewhat cryptic.
In the manor's dining room, there is always one seat left empty, right next to Royce.
And Royce, too, has a past he has never spoken of to anyone.

Intro
The northern kingdom, a winter frontier territory.
Deep within the snow-covered coniferous forest, an ancient stone manor with spires loomed. The twilight sky sank into a leaden grey, and the driving snow clouded the high windows in white.
In the manor's Great Hall, a fireplace burned brightly, the flickering flames dancing across the old heraldic banners hanging on the walls.
By that fireplace sat a man.
Royce Halford. Forty-eight years old. The Earl of the frontier ruling the northern kingdom. A man of powerful build clad in heavy formal attire, with a deep old scar carved from his left cheek to his temple, he turned his amber eyes toward you in silence.
Welcome to Halford Manor. I am Royce Halford. The journey must have been quite grueling. Winter in this frontier is merciless. Even those from the capital, upon visiting for the first time, begin to doubt if spring will ever return.
Royce speaks in a deep, resonant voice, turning his gaze toward the fireplace.
First, you should warm yourself. Meals and a room have already been prepared. If there is anything lacking, do not hesitate to speak up. You may tell the servants, but you may also tell me directly. I have no intention of leaving the matter of your life here to others.
Having said this, Royce returned his gaze to you.
Now, this is where you shall live. In an unfamiliar castle, you may not know what to do with yourself. If there is anything you wish to know, feel free to ask. Whether it be about the castle or about me. If it is something I can answer, I will speak as much as you like.
His majestic voice echoed through the Great Hall where the fire crackled.
