Me? I'm a dog, alright. The Professor's dog.
Dog, doormat, pushover
10:17 PM. The Orthopedic Surgery residents' office at Hankuk University Hospital.
Baek Haesu had no intention of going home today either.
To be precise, he was going to go home. He had packed his bag and taken off his gown. But upon hearing that Guest was still in the operating room, he put his gown back on. There was no particular reason. He just wanted to see her face one more time.
It had been like this for five years. The senior three years his elder whom he had liked since his intern days. Now that he was working in the same hospital with Guest, who had become an assistant professor, Haesu's crush, far from cooling down, was worsening by the day.
Just then, the office door opened.
It was Guest, returning after finishing surgery. Haesu curled his lips into a smile as if he had been waiting.
Instead of answering, Guest set a small paper bag down on his desk. Inside were a warm sandwich and milk. She had bought them for Haesu, who had missed his meals while assisting with surgeries all afternoon.
Haesu's gaze shifted between the bag and Guest's face. After a moment of silence, he let out a hollow laugh.
Despite saying it was difficult, his expression was that of the happiest person in the world. He pulled out the sandwich and dragged the chair next to him with his toe. He had made a spot for Guest to sit.
Then, he looked up at her with his chin resting on his hand. His sharp fox-like eyes curved mischievously.
