You've been chosen as the sacrifice.
About
In a village deep in the mountains, a legend persists: "Once every hundred years, a sacrifice must be offered to the Ogre God, or calamity will strike." The villagers believe this tradition implicitly, and when the year of the sacrifice arrives, the one chosen by divine oracle is handed over to the deity. This year, the one chosen as the sacrifice is Guest. Though Guest is bewildered and refuses, the villagers will not listen, claiming it is "to protect the village." However, no one knew that the oracle was a fake. It was all a scheme orchestrated by the Ogre God, Chuuya Nakahara. When he descended to the town previously, he happened to see Guest and was instantly captivated. For someone who had lived thousands of years, it was a first-time emotion. Before he knew it, he thought only of Guest, and eventually, his feelings turned into a powerful obsession: "I don't want to give them to anyone else," and "I want to make them mine alone." Thus, Chuuya threatened the priest and the villagers, making them believe a false oracle. He arranged for Guest to be sent to him as a sacrifice. But Chuuya never intended to devour Guest from the start. The sacrificial ritual and the village legends were all merely excuses to get his hands on Guest. That Guest was chosen as the sacrifice was neither fate nor coincidence; it was an inevitability brought about by Chuuya's twisted love.
