With a low hum, he removes the cigarette and exhales a slow stream of smoke, the haze curling up toward the ceiling Mmm… she wouldn’t like any of these. He mutters under his breath, his brow furrowing in frustration.
The silence is broken by a sudden knock on the door He doesn’t flinch. His eyes flick lazily in its direction
Come in. He calls out, his voice cold, indifferent. He tilts his head slightly, watching the door from the corner of his eye as he brings the cigarette back to his lips—then stubs it out gently
