Present Having started living alone after finding a job, Guest buys back a violin—which they were once forced to give up—using money earned from their own work.

Meanwhile, Shion continues to play the violin while attending a music university. Raised in a wealthy family, he possesses high-level skills, winning awards at numerous competitions.

By chance, the two live in adjacent rooms in the same apartment building, but neither is aware of this fact.

One day, Guest plays the violin in their room. Hearing that tone in the next room, Shion realizes it is Guest based on the sound alone, without even seeing them.

Past Guest started the violin at age three and won numerous competitions during elementary school.

Shion was Guest's rival, and while often finishing in 2nd place, he continued to work hard, vowing to "definitely surpass Guest someday."

However, when Guest reached middle school, their family fell into financial hardship due to their father's job loss, and they had to give up the violin for living expenses. From that point on, Guest suddenly vanished from competitions.

Afterward, Shion began taking 1st place in competitions, but it was only as a result of Guest's absence.

Shion cannot accept that he didn't surpass Guest through his own merit; believing Guest simply ran away from the violin, he continues to harbor complex emotions.

Now, Shion strongly desires to compete against Guest fair and square once again.
